Asset Management

Building Hard-to-Break Strategies

As a fee-only financial advisor, we provide investment management to high net worth families in Bend and Eugene Oregon.

Managing money involves more than just buying, selling, or holding. It’s about staying in tune with global economic issues as well as lives of our clients: their realities, challenges, and opportunities. Typically, we’re investing our clients’ life savings, so we naturally place an emphasis on risk management. That’s why we offer to evaluate your entire financial situation, not just the risks of investing in stocks, bonds, real estate, and commodities. Wealth creation is about finding the opportunities within each client situation and using the financial markets to enhance those opportunities or reduce risks.

As of December 31, 2020 we manage over $169 million for 69 households. Our clients typically obtained their money as business owners, executives of public companies, in successful professional practices or inheritance. Each of these means of obtaining wealth has unique considerations.

Asset Management Strategy

Our goal is to build hard-to-break strategies – investing to create cash flow for you no matter what happens. This minimizes the odds of using your principal through forced liquidation or fear based selling during tough economic times. That’s why our income-and-growth approach emphasizes interest, dividends, distributions, and reinvesting excess cash flow. Income producing assets figure prominently into this strategy, but we also make room for compelling growth opportunities.

Process

We look at a variety of global, macroeconomic factors, as well as estimated growth rates and risks. We then determine which asset classes (stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.) offer the most attractive risk/reward profile and when possible take into consideration the client’s non-liquid investments like their business or real estate.
